We began short-wave broadcasts in 1931 using a 200-watt transmitter. The Technology Centre was set up in an effort to design and build specialised, cost-effective shortwave transmitters and has grown to serve Christian radio ministries around the world
In order to provide power for the shortwave transmitters and its two hospitals in Ecuador, HCJB Global has been operating a hydroelectric power station at Papallacta, Ecuador, since 1965.
