In 1931, when HCJB Global pioneered the world’s first missionary broadcast station, shortwave radio was an effective medium for reaching most of the world. However, in the last 75 years technology has changed and is continuing to change rapidly with new media emerging. We have constantly responded by delivering the gospel through the most effective medium for each target audience and culture.
Radio continues to be our major focus. As well as shortwave, we and our partners now use satellite, FM and AM, to broadcast the Gospel of Jesus Christ in nearly 120 languages and dialects.
Our message is also carried over television and the Internet .
Working with partner ministries around the globe, we are planting new local radio ministries every month. Internet chatrooms are touching many who do not listen to Christian radio, while shortwave and satellite broadcasting reach into the remote areas of the world, even penetrating closed countries hostile to the gospel.
Our highly qualified missionary engineers design, build and install the innovative broadcasting equipment best suited to each locale. HCJB Global is a world leader in using technology for ministry.
As new media develop in the twenty-first century, we will continue to seek out new and innovative ways to reach our ever-changing world for Christ.
